"Not resemble any other name"[edit]

The "Name" section near the end of the article says that when George Eastman and his mother collaborated on inventing the name "Kodak" one of George's requirements was that it 'should not resemble any other name'. But it does resemble another (pre-existing) name: Kodiak, in Alaska. The state had been purchased by the United States from Russia almost a quarter-century earlier. Could the Eastmans have heard the name and forgotten it? Or had they never heard of it? I've been aware of the similarity of the two names for many years, but I've never encountered any acknowledgement of it anywhere. O Murr (talk) 21:49, 14 November 2019 (UTC)

I've just spotted the notice (in tiny print) "Not to be confused with Kodiak" at the top of the article page. But I can honestly say - with some sense of relief - that this is the first acknowledgement of any kind that I've ever seen that the two names are similar. is an American technology and pharmaceutical company[edit]

It seems strange that the opening sentence says that Kodak is an American technology and pharmaceutical company. The pharmaceutical portion is at best an initiative being explored that hasn't produced any results yet. I think it's fine to mention the initiative elsewhere, but the wording suggests that Kodak has already made that transition. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:1118:8613:ED2B:B531:AB68:ED35 (talk) 18:33, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

Kodak buildings in Australia[edit]

When establishing their presence in Australia, many of their regional offices/labs took the form of buildings of a distinctive shape - relatively narrow and tall for their width (3-5 storeys). (see Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart). I'll start looking for any useful references about this, in case it is of interest/relevance to this article, but thought I'd mention it here in case anyone knows more - is it unique to Australian sites? The Hobart site in particular recently had a development application for conversion to apartments so I will scour that for any historical info. -- Chuq (talk) 14:04, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

kodak Photocopiers and LED printers[edit]

Kodak had quite a big range of photocopiers as well as some very funky laser printers (that used this really smart LED array). IBM did an OEM and sold them as 3827, 3828 and 3829. I added a main section on the photocopiers, but more details would be great....AVandewerdt (talk) 03:31, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
